Jimmie Sandman:

Student Athlete Guide

Jimmie gravitates towards guiding and mentoring young men and women to be the best version of themselves, both in athletics and academics. His passion for coaching began over a decade ago as a youth water polo coach for Stanford Water Polo Club and as a private trainer for some of the Bay Area’s elite high school water polo goalkeepers.

Jimmie understands the drive and discipline that is demanded of student athletes—in high school, college, and ultimately in a path that awaits them as they pursue professional careers by leveraging their years of hard work. He navigated the rigorous college application process to top universities, including: Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, UCLA, and the United States Naval Academy.

His time at Stanford as captain and goalkeeper for the Men’s Water Polo team earned him multiple All-American and Academic All-American honors as well as a B.S. in Management Science and Engineering. After college, he went on to play with the United States Men’s National Team and returned to the Bay Area to advance in a business development and project management career with early-stage startups.

As his primary focus at The College Planning Center, Jimmie will be involved with expanding and continuing the success of organization’s Student Athlete Program, which has guided numerous student athletes through the complicated and often daunting process of collegiate athletics recruiting. He is excited and motivated to share his experience with student athletes who wish to continue playing the sport they love and find the optimal fit at a college that can foster their growth in and out of the classroom.
