Lynette Mathews, Director of The College Planning Center, is an educational consultant and free-lance writer for various publications, writing on college admissions and teen related issues. As the author of the TRACK IT! College Planning Curriculum, she has worked to grow the College Planning Center organization by offering a tool that can be used as the educational component of college planning services. It is with great anticipation that The College Planning Center launched the Curriculum for sale in 2012, offering others in the field of college counseling the benefit of a professional and consistent curriculum.

Lynette works tirelessly toward her vision of developing the means to offer advanced college planning to all students in the community. Through a combination of one-on-one counseling, free workshops, and articles in the media – she hopes to reach all families in the community that are in need of guidance. She works closely with the local high schools and the Parent Teacher Associations to supplement parent/student education provided by the high school counseling departments. The College Planning Center reaches thousands of parents and students each year by offering a complimentary Annual College Night Series at public schools.

Lynette was awarded the prestigious IDEA grant by the Western Association for College Admissions Counseling (WACAC) for her work with under-represented students in the community, and continues to work for access to college for all deserving students.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Loyola Marymount University and a Certificate in College Counseling from University of California at Los Angeles. She continues her academic pursuits with annual campus visits, conferences and webinars offered by industry experts.
